An attractive species for bees, bees love this variety. Also known as the bullit shaped Allium or drumsticks. They emerge with hollow leaves up to about one third of the stem when the come into bloom they are green in the beginning then they turn crimson maroon from top to bottom. Introduced in 1753. Origin from Mediterranean area to Caucasus, Belgian ardennes and near Bristol.
